Dear Lisa, I was so saddened to hear of Jerry's death. I was looking forward to seeing him at Breath Deep DC this coming weekend. I will miss his being there to greet me and my family with his out stretched arms, his big hug, his smile and for me, his hearty congratulations for being a survivor too. He has been there every year. He has been a tremendous inspiration to lung cancer survivors, and through his courage he has shown that there is hope for so many impacted by the disease. He created an event that has raised much needed money to help find a cure for lung cancer. Every year for seven years at Breath Deep DC we stood together at the ribbon cutting ceremony before the walk. This year we will walk to honor his memory.

Dear Lisa, Claire, Emma and extended family,
As the neighbor across the street I have a appreciation for his fine character and devotion to his family. He always appeared, even recently, physically fit, even shoveling snow from the driveway. My deepest sympathy to all the Sorkins and others.

Lisa and family,
Jerry brought a great inner-peace and divine confidence to my wife, Kathleen at her most vulnerable moment. He represents all that is good and kind in the human spirit and is a true inspiration of hope to all of us. His smile was so very inviting to the soul. I will keep his memory with me forever.
