It is with great sorrow that I learned of Leonard's death. However, he leaves a wonderful legacy of good works, commitment to the arts and a long life well lived. He will be missed but remembered with love and gratitude.

My deepest sympathies to the Silverstein family. May you all be comforted by the knowledge that Leonard was an amazingly kind man with a heart of gold who treated people with the greatest respect. I had the pleasure of regularly seeing him via the WHHA and he was always gracious and welcoming to me. I will remember him not for what he did but how he made me feel each time I was in his presence. May he rest in eternal peace. I will always remember him.

My sincere condolences to the Silverstein
Family. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know this very fine man during my tenure at Silverstein & Mullens from 1993-2004. I have the utmost respect for this fine gentleman, superb attorney, loving husband, devoted father & grandfather and a superior mentor. Many times I had the pleasure of working side by side with Mr. Silverstein and learned quite a lot and saw how much his clients respected him. Sometimes funny, sometimes stern, he was always happy to be at the Firm. I so much admired his energy and zest for life. He was respected all over Washington, DC and I know he will be sorely missed. I will certainly miss him as he was a very important part of my life. The last time I saw Mr. Silverstein was a couple of years ago when I stopped by the firm on my way through DC. Now living in Tampa since leaving the firm in 2004, I wanted to share my experiences with this great man.
Respectfully,
Nicholas Molnar

I am an old friend of Leonard's son Tom whom I met in high school. Whenever I visited Tom in D.C. Leonard and Elaine were always gracious hosts. I was always impressed by how sharp Leonard's mind was and always appreciated any insights he had. He was a true gentleman and will be missed.

Thank you for all you have done for the National Symphony Orchestra. As a recent arrival in Washington, DC it has been a great joy to attend concerts that might not have taken place without Mr. Silverstein's foresight and commitment.

Leonard was a true gentlemen, always impeccably dressed and polite but forceful, if necessary and completely prepared. I am grateful to have called him a friend and grateful also for the personal & professional support he showed me through a variety of trying times.

My law firm merged with Mr. Silverstein's firm in 2014 making us colleagues, but unfortunately we never met. Of course, I admired him. Sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

My best friend, Jacqueline Lawrence, has worked for Mr. Silverstein for over 40 years and I had the pleasure of meeting and dining with him on several occasions.
He was friendly, generous, always making sure that Jacquie and I had a splendid meal whenever we visited, and he took the time to advise my son, an Annapolis graduate, on a possible career in law. They enjoyed sharing stories about the Navy.
I admired Mr. Silverstein for his expertise and entrepreneurship in law, and especially his deep devotion to the arts, a passion shared by Jacquie and me. He impressed me with his integrity, spirit, perseverance and his ability to play tennis into his 90s!!
Years ago he gave me a wooden barrel which I had admired, with a lion and unicorn on the crest and the French words: Honor, God and Righteousness. I, too, am a francophile and the treasured barrel is my umbrella stand and a constant memory of Mr. Silverstein's generous nature.
The ripples of his departure from this earth will be endless, and the memories of his efforts and energy to make the world a better place will prevail. I send love and blessings to his family and friends.

Leonard was an inspiration to me. He had a desire to not only to learn but to better himself. He always made you feel good about yourself when you were around him. He was passionate, generous and very intelligent. He cared very much about his family. He will be missed
