BROWN

KIRSTEN VENETTA BROWN (Age 43)

Passed quietly at home on October 21, 2006 at 6:30 a.m. of complications due to breast cancer. Beloved daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Brown. She graduated from Sidwell Friends School in 1981 and received B.S. degree in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986. She was a world class kayaker and ranked third in the United States among female white water slalom kayakers in 1991. She competed on the US Canoe and Kayak Team, traveling nationally and internationally.

She was married to and divorced from George Michael Fleshman.

She is survived by her parents, siblings, Kecia L. Brown, MPH, Kolette L. Brown, MD and Karlton W. Brown; two nieces and numerous family members and friends.

On Saturday, October 28, 2006, visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Massachetts and Wisconsin Aves., NW, Washington, DC. Interment private. Arrangements by McGUIRE.
