Nancy Wickersham Obituary

Wickersham, Nancy Taylor Devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Mrs. Wickersham was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania on August 16, 1949. A devout Christian, Mrs. Wickersham was the wife of forty years of Colonel Frank Gannon Wickersham III and the mother of Taylor-Lee Wickersham of Warrenton, VA. Mrs. Wickersham accompanied her husband and family through their twenty-seven year career in the United States Marine Corps. Her personal accomplishments included selection as a dancer in the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics, a career as a registered real estate agent, President of the Washington Marine Corps Wives' Club and leadership in various other community and political associations. Nancy was known by all for her charm, outgoing personality and support for both friends and family. She was steadfast in her duties as a Marine Wife and a loving mother. The family will receive friends at the Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Warrenton Baptist Church, Warrenton, VA. Mrs. Wickersham will be laid to rest at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fauquier Health System,500 Hospital Drive, Warrenton, VA 20186 for the Infusion Center.
