Brannan, James
James Brannan, 75, of Merrill, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
James was born January 26, 1937 to James and Rita (Mullarkey) Brannan. He was joined in marriage to Sandra Brandl on August 5, 1961. James was proud of his service to his country in the Army. He worked for Grinnell, Grunau, Viking Fire Protection in Special Hazard Work, and retired from Backman Company. For many years he was the secretary for his Union, Local 183. He enjoyed to hunt and retained his love of farming he learned in his youth on his family's farm in Iowa. James was truly a social person that liked spending time with his many friends; and loved his family very deeply.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra, two sons James and Daniel (Stacy), a daughter Jane Brannan Tamboli, a son-in-law Bryan (Andrea) Tamboli, seven grandchildren Joseph Brannan, Bobby Brannan, Kyle Tamboli, Kevin Tamboli, Jennifer Tamboli, Jack Tamboli, and Samuel Brannan; a brother William (Pat), and two sisters Mary Beth (George) Groppi and Barbara Kurth.
In addition to both his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter Joan, three brothers John, Robert, and Larry; and two sisters Joanne and Janice.
Memorial services will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11:00 am at St Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.mwcs.ws
