Anne A. Fochs, 83, formerly of Mosinee and Rhinelander, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at St. Claire's Hospital, Weston.
She was born July 26, 1930, to the late George and Anna (Maka) Sondelski. She married Joseph Fochs on Nov. 15, 1947. He survives.
Anne, known as "Bushi" to most, was most comfortable in her kitchen and garden. Whether it be constantly baking goodies for her family (or anyone else who walked through her door) or tending to her beautiful garden, she always wanted to share her talents with others. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and was always delighted to converse when she could in her native tongue. Kishka was a favorite family recipe among many others. Anne's other hobbies and interests include; ice fishing, making maple syrup, playing cards, canning, picking blueberries, and enjoying her many years at her home on Crescent Lake in Rhinelander. "The Cottage" was a place where friends, family and Grandchildren gather as a favorite place to be together. Her most important contribution was raising her six children and being a devoted wife of almost 66 years.
Survivors besides her husband, Joseph, include three sons, Terry (Jody) Fochs, Mosinee and San Diego, Cali, Joel (Kay) Fochs, and John (Annette) Fochs, both of Mosinee; three daughters, Carol Ahles, Mosinee, Janet (Dan) Gremban, Rhinelander, and Pamela (Garrite) Brandenburg, Rhinelander; 17 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; and two sisters, Leona Birdsey, Mosinee, and Lillian (Stan) Mijal, Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by, a son-in-law, Robert Ahles, six brothers; Zigmund, John, Frank, Leon, Stanley, and Edward Sondelski.
Memorial Service will be at 6:30 pm Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The Family would also like to thank the staff at St. Claire's Hospital and Renaissance Assisted Living.
