Beatrice D. Wanta, 88, formerly of Bevent, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her loving son and the Priest.
She was born on July 21, 1924 in Bevent, the daughter of the late William and Angeline (Knipple) Staszak.
On August 22, 1942, Beatrice was united in marriage to Edward Wanta at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2008.
Beatrice was a loving wife and mother. She was the bookkeeper for her husband's logging business and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and other activities. Beatrice was a resident at Colonial Manor in Wausau since 2010 and was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent.
Survivors include two children, Marlene Kleman, Scottsdale, AZ and Leroy (Sherry) Wanta, Bevent; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her sister, Geraldine Kleman and three sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by a daughter, Edna Rose and one brother, Joseph Staszak.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8am until the time of the service at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
