Bernice Rose Kudla, 88, died peacefully Sunday February 24, 2013 at St. Rita's Adult Family Home in Mosinee.
She was born September 4, 1924 in Cicero, IL, the daughter of the late Albert and Hattie (Gromala) Majkrzak. Her childhood was spent on the family farms, first in Fancher (Portage County) and then in Ashley (Marathon County). On November 7, 1942, she married Peter Kudla at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. Together they farmed and raised five children at the dairy farm in the Town of Bergen. He preceded her in death June 24, 1991.
Survivors include five children, Marcie (Ron) Janz, Fond du Lac, Joe (Karen) Kudla, Mosinee, Mike Kudla, Mukwanago, Barbara (Mike) Dominowski, Staten Island, NY and Mary Kudla (Allison Beezer), Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Tom (Gabriela) Janz, Dan and David (Heather) Kudla and Mara Dominowski; four great-grandchildren, Gwyneth and Alaric Janz and Peter and Marina Kudla; two brothers, Adolph and Edwin (Marian) Majkrzak; and one sister, Martha (Jim) Legner.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Stanley and Edward Majkrzak; and two sisters, Albie Dombrowski and Jean Janz.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 28, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Bernice requested donations be made to St. Paul Catholic Church building fund or St. Paul school.
The family would like to thank the staffs at St. Rita's Adult Family Home and Willow Haven Assisted Living for the patient and compassionate care they provided their mother and the support provided to the family for the past 2 ½ years.
