Cora M. Socha

Cora Marie Socha, 85, of Neenah, died peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Sterling House.

Cora was born October 5, 1927, in Marathon County, daughter of the late Edward and Regina (Adams) Meyer. She married Lawrence Socha on July 3, 1948. He preceded her in death, as did their daughter, Linda Socha-Ovel.

A beloved sister, Cora is survived by her brother, Edward (Sharon) Meyer of Wausau, two sisters, Beatrice Radenz, also of Wausau and Mae Allain of Weston; four sisters-in-law: Bernadine Meyer of Rothschild; Lorraine Socha, Edgar; Norma Socha, Edgar; Dorothy Socha, Neenah; brother-in-law LeRoy (Marlene) Socha, Edgar and son-in-law, G. Scott Ovel, Cedar Rapids, IA. Cora was also dearly loved by her numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish the memory of her cheerful disposition, sense of humor and generosity.

Cora was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Meyer and Leon Meyer, and four sisters: Genevieve Busche, Dorothy Szekeress, Esther Emerick and Alice Steiner; sister-in-law Leona (George) Miller and brothers-in-law: Leo Socha, Jr., Louis Socha, Leonard (Lorraine) Socha, Lester Socha, and David Socha.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a memorial or .

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Sterling House for their loving care of Cora during her stay there and to ThedaCare and Asera Hospice who helped her to be as comfortable as possible in her last days. Also, to the many thoughtful and caring people who called and sent cards to Cora, we thank you.
