Donald Tomson, 81, Hatley, died on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his home.
He was born on August 11, 1932 in Hatley, the son of the late Justin and Amelia (Easker) Tomson.
Donald was a Korean War
Veteran serving in the United States Army
. He was a member of the Elderon Memorial Post #8068 VFW
On May 28, 1953, Donald was united in marriage to Beverly Suwyn at St. Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2009.
Donald worked at Richard Jozwiak Masonry, Hatley Veneer and retired from Wilson-Hurd Company, Wausau in 1994. He was a life-time member at St. Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley. Donald enjoyed going to the casino, watching the western channel, trout and ice-fishing and polka music.
Survivors include three children, Robert (Heather) Tomson, Schofield, Patty Marquardt, Wausau and Ronald Tomson, Schofield; six grandchildren, JoAnn, Jenny, Brook, Rhonda, John and Miranda; great-grandchildren, Terrence, Desmond, Logan, Anthony, Terrell, Elizabeth, Austin, Gabriella, and Jazmyn; five sisters, Rosemary Malchowski, Hatley, Barbara Corazalla, Birnamwood, Marie Nievinski, Elderon, Eleanor Bensley, Ringle and Diane Budleski, Schofield; one brother, David (Pat) Tomson, Birnamwood; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Donna) Suwyn, Jack (Betty) Suwyn all of Elderon and one-sister-in-law, Pat (Clarence) Wendler, Wittenberg.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister, Viola and two sisters in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at St. Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley. Fr. Roy Witucki will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00PM until the time of service at the church.
