Elberta I. Crowley, age 92 of Wausau died Friday, November 16, 2012 at Wellington Place in Rib Mountain.

Elberta was born in the Town of Maine on August 9, 1920 to the late Martin and Augusta (Hoernke) Sturm. She worked as a maid for Mceachron on Easthill and for the rubber plant off of Sherman St. Elberta lived with her sister for a period of time where she worked in a laundry facility. She married Walter Crowley on December 4, 1948. Elberta and Walter lived in Milwaukee until Walters retirement. They then moved to Wausau where they resided on Graham Street.

Elberta was quite the seamstress, sewing all of her and Walter's clothing, making rugs, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Survivors include her sister LuElla Bauman of Wausau and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St. The Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Visitation will take place from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Brainard Funeral Home, and again from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave, Wausau.
