Lang, Evelyn A.

Evelyn A. Lang nee Fischer-Waraxa Lang, 96, Wausau, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at Marywood Center, Wausau.

She was born August 6, 1916 in Marathon City, daughter of the late Conrad and Katherine (Bedynek) Fischer. On April 19, 1947 she married Stanley Waraxa at St. Casimer Catholic Church, Milwaukee. She then moved to Janesville, living with her older sister Laparda and family and was employed at the Oldsmobile Plant where they manufactured artillery shells for the troops. She was very proud when she was presented with the largest "suggestions" award of $248 in war bonds and stamps, one of the largest ever paid at the plant. Later Evelyn moved to Milwaukee where she worked at the Weyenberg Shoe Manufacturer where she met Stanley.
