Zimmeman, Franklin "Herman"

Franklin "Herman" Zimmerman, age 80 of Wausau, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Applegate Terrace under the care of Aseracare Hospice.

He was born on October 28, 1932 in Waukesha, son of the late Albert and Edna (Grosenick) Zimmerman. He married Madora Birr, who preceded him in death in 2000. Herman served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Drott Manufacturing for 35 years prior to retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Survivors include his two daughters, Carla (Peter) Spychalla, Wausau, and Karen Zimmerman, Stevens Point; five grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Tyler, Brittany, and Dylan; and his brother, Kenneth Zimmerman, Sonara, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Catherine.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau. Rev. Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a future memorial in his name.
