Kufahl, Harvey H.
Harvey H. Kufahl, age 83, of Tomahawk, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, under hospice care at his home. He was born January 1, 1930, in the Town of Berlin, WI, to Ewald and Clara (Seidler) Kufahl. Harvey grew up in the Athens, WI, area and attended school there. Harvey was married to Joan Giese on November 25, 1954, in Athens. He served in The United States Army during the Korean War
Harvey worked as a carpenter, building new homes in the Milwaukee area. Vacations were spent on camping trips in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Weekends were spent at campgrounds near home. He retired in 1992, and moved to the Tomahawk area in 1998. Harvey enjoyed taking care of his yard, mowing the grass, and picking up endless pine cones and needles outside his home on Lake Alice. He liked watching the many birds and wildlife that came to his feeders. He especially enjoyed dog sitting for his four legged buddies, Mindy, Remy, Willow and Sophie. Harvey was a Brewers and Packers fan and loved watching the games on TV.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Kufahl of Tomahawk;
two daughters, Barbara (Mike) Petcoff of Wauwatosa, WI; and Carolyn (Glenn) Belanger of Athens, WI.;
one sister, Stella (Marv) Wolff of Sun City, Arizona.
Harvey is further survived by two grandchildren, Daniel Belanger and Katie Belanger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Clara, two sisters, Arlene and Alice, and two brothers, Harold and Gilbert.
Funeral Services for Harvey Kufahl will be held Friday, May 3rd, 2013, at 11 AM from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate with Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Generations Funeral Home of Tomahawk on Thursday, May 2nd from 4 PM to 8 PM, and again on Friday at the church from 10 AM until the hour of services at 11 AM.
