James Joseph Rheinschmidt, 89, Mosinee, died Thursday May 16, 2013 in the comfort of his home.
He was born February 10, 1924 in Mosinee, son of the late William and Louise (Zerba) Rheinschmidt. On August 10, 1957 he married Anna Rose Muzynoski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.
James graduated from Mosinee High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy
serving during World War II
on the U.S.S. Henrico as a Gunners Mate. After serving his country, Jim returned to Mosinee where he continued assisting Con Roberts, manufacturing Mud Puppy Lures. Jim was employed by the Mosinee Paper Mill for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Rheinschmidt, Mosinee; seven children, Mary (Mike) Grabow, Mosinee, Jim (Wendy) Rheinschmidt, Mosinee, Andrew (Linda) Rheinschmidt, Birnamwood, Scott (Ginny) Rheinschmidt, Mosinee, Nancy Polka, Mosinee, Judy Rheinschmidt, Mosinee and Katie Rheinschmidt, Eagle River; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Gordon (Beverly) Rheinschmidt, Mosinee.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Constant Rheinschmidt; daughter, Jacqueline Rheinschmidt; three brothers and four sisters, Ray Rheinschmidt, Mae Rheinschmidt, Lucille "Toots" Unertl, Helen Mielke, Leander Rheinschmidt, Irene Martin and Donald Rheinschmidt;
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee where at 7:00 pm a rosary service was held followed by the VFW
Mosinee Post service. Visitation will be Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 am at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee.
