Michael Paap

Michael E. Paap, 60, Wittenberg, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Wittenberg.

He was born on September 29, 1953 in Neenah, the son of the late Edward and Jean (Collipp) Paap.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Charmayne Paap, Wittenberg; six children, Shawn (Colleen) Paap, Milwaukee, Jennifer Paap, Austin, TX, Andy (Angela) Paap, Milwaukee, Michael Ganski, Wittenberg, Miranda (fiancé, Reier Grudem) Ganski, St. Paul, MN and Michelle Ganski, Wittenberg; three grandchildren, Gavin, Chloe and Finley; two brothers, Larry (Renee) Paap and Dave (Brenda) Paap, both of AZ; two sisters, Barbara (John) Flynn, CO and Debbie (Robert) Gullickson, West Bend and his mother-in-law, Patricia Stroik, Wittenberg. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and his beloved dog, Dylan.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Paap and his father-in-law, Raymond Stroik.

Mike worked at Domtar for over 40 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling to National Parks and hiking, four-wheeling or just doing yard work. Mike was also very passionate about music, especially his annual pilgrimage to Rock Fest and other concerts. He was an avid sports fan, he especially loved to watch his beloved Green Bay Packers. Most importantly, Mike enjoyed doing all these things with his family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 4pm on Monday, February 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galloway. Deacon David Ashenbrenner will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 1pm until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name may be directed to the Marathon County Humane Society.
