Renee J. Thomsen
Renee' J. Thomsen, 41, became one of the Lord's sweetest and most beautiful angels on Friday June 20, 2014.
Renee' was born in Wausau on June 15th, 1973, the daughter of Rick and Pam Roemke. In 1990 she met Scott Thomsen through their shared interest in local stock car racing; they married on April 20, 1996. Scott was the love of her life, enjoying the good times with Renee', and supporting her throughout her sickness. Life's greatest joy for Renee was their son Mitch, she took great pride in everything he did, and was extremely proud of the person he is. Her love for Mitch is endless and will now extend to him from the heaven above.
Renee' was passionate about spending time with family and friends for weekends at the cottage, and for holidays. She loved to cook, watch the Food Network, and also volunteered her time for several clubs and organizations.
Renee' was preceded in death by paternal Grandparents Fred and Bertha "Tootie" Roemke, maternal Grandfather Les Tapper, Father-In-Law Ken Thomsen and Brother-In-Law Todd Thomsen.
Renee' is survived by her husband, son, parents and brother Chad (Gina) Roemke, Wausau; Grandmother Millie Tapper, Wausau; Aunts and Uncles, Karen and Irv Sumner, Wausau, Jay Tapper and Pam Tapper-Solberg, Duluth, MN, Joy Tapper and Bill Pickering, Wauwatosa; Mother-In-Law Judy Thomsen, Wausau; Cousins Ben, Joe, and Ellen Pickering, Wauwatosa, Scott (Jane) Sumner, Los Gatos, CA, and Steve (Michelle) Sumner, Brunswick, OH.
Renee' will be remembered for her giving personality and her smile; she will be deeply missed by many.
Memorial Services will take place at 6:00pm on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 3200 N. Mountain Rd, Wausau. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until the time of services at the church. The Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate.
Brainard Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank UW Madison Hospital for their support of Renee' over the past six years, as well as the nursing staff at Mount View Care Center for their kindness in her final days.
