Kittson, Susan "Suzi"

Susan "Suzi" Kittson, age 57 of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Mount View Care Center under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau, following a courageous, four-year battle with MSA.

She was born on January 28, 1956 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Glenn and Patricia (Wehe) Graper. On June 23, 1984 she married her best friend and love of her life Terry. Suzi attended the UW-Eau Claire where she earned her Master's Degree in communication disorders. She began working for the Owen/Withee School District as their speech clinician, and later for Marathon County Special Education in Athens. Suzi also helped Sandy at Rib Mountain Lutheran Preschool.

She enjoyed photography, stamping, playing guitar, camping, everything about her I-mac computer and spending time with family and friends. She was an animal lover and had many pets throughout her life. Most of all, she loved working with children, especially raising her son, Aaron. She was an active member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Rib Mountain.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Brookfield; her son, Aaron; her sister, Judi (Raymond) Adler, Lomira; nephew, Jesse; her step-father, Mike Maier, Delafield; mother-in-law, Audrey Kittson, Brookfield; brother Craig (Sally) Kittson, and their two children Paul and Sarah; and her beloved dog, Chelsea.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Norman Kittson.

A celebration of Suzi's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 3200 N. Mountain Rd., Wausau. Pastor Craig Swenson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saint Andrew Lutheran Church or to the family for a donation to the Multi System Atrophy Association, a debilitating disease that took so much of her body……but not her spirit. Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau is assisting the family with arrangements.

Online condolences may be given at www.brainardfuneral.com

Her bright, sparkly, blue eyes, wonderful smile and tender heart will be missed by everybody she touched.
