Boller, William "Bill"
Entering his heavenly home, William "Bill" Joseph Boller, age 90, of Wausau, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, with his family by his side.
He was born on March 8, 1923 in Wausau, son of the late Eberhardt and Catherine (Marx) Boller. Upon graduating from Wausau East High School, he entered the US Air Force
and he was stationed in England, France and Germany. On November 22, 1950, he married the love of his life, Marian Wasserburger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, WI.
Bill worked at Weyerhauser Corp. for over 35 years. In 1982, he began working for Betley Armored Car Service of Green Bay, as their Wausau District Manager. He and his wife both retired in 1994, and they began spending winters in Florida. For the rest of the year, they spent their time traveling together, which they both enjoyed greatly.
He was a lifelong member of VFW
Burns Post #388, and a member of their Last Man's Club. He was also a member of the Wausau Elks Lodge
#248 for over 30 years. Bill had a very strong work ethic. He was a nature lover who enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, winter skiing, and was an avid motorcyclist. In earlier years, he and his family enjoyed camping up north at Indian Shores Campground. He was a baseball and football fan, and attended many Brewers and Packer games, often with season tickets.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Marian Boller, Wausau; two daughters, Barbara (Donald) Henzlik, North Aurora, IL, and Kathryn (Milton) DeLonay, Wausau; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Durnas, Naperville, IL, William Henzlik, North Aurora, IL, Martha Jean (Joseph) Ross, Wausau, and Marshall DeLonay, Wausau; one great-grandchild, Evan Durnas, Naperville, IL, and another great-grandchild expected to arrive in June; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Boller.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 621 2nd St., Wausau. Rev. Timothy Welles will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau, where there will be an Elks Lodge of Sorrow service held at 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary service. Visitation on Monday at the church will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the VFW.
