Krueger, Ann

Ann F. Krueger, 87, of Wausau was taken into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on June 21, 2012. She died at home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She will be remembered as an "adorable" little lady with a kind and loving heart always giving of herself. She was a "hugger" with a big smile. Our mom was our best friend, who we will miss very much.

She was born Anna Frieda Rademann on April 21, 1925 in the Township of Skanawan, Lincoln County to the late August and Frieda (Gebhardt) Rademann. She never liked her given name, so she legally changed it to Ann, but our family still called her Anna.

She married Conway E. Krueger on January 12, 1946 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Wausau. Together they had three children, two of which survive; Ruth (Herb) Tritten and Joan Stroyny both of Wausau. Also surviving are Grandson Justin (Nicole) Stroyny of Madison; Granddaughter Jennifer Stroyny and Great Granddaughter Jada Stroyny both of Wausau; sisters Florence (Chris) Schmidt of Sussex and Marianne (Wilfred) Gehrke of Wausau; brother Carl (Luella) Rademann of Reno, Nevada. She also had many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Conway, son James, and Sister Adeline Gollar.

Before retiring she worked as a cocktail waitress for 17 years at the Wausau Club and then as a seamstress for the former Don Fitzgerald Tailor and Cleaners in Wausau. Although handicapped with limited use of her right arm and hand, her passion was sewing, making most of her own clothing as well as gifts for family and friends. Her greatest joy was making the bridal gowns for her daughter's weddings. She spent the past 20 years quilting at St. Stephen Lutheran Church. She couldn't wait for Thursday "quilting day" to be with friends in the quilting circle. Having a real "sweet tooth" she also had a passion for baking, especially angel Christmas cookies and cinnamon bread. She also loved angels and had a huge collection. To all who knew her, she was one of God's angels on earth!

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 512 McClellan St, Wausau. The Rev. Gary Froseth will officiate. Friends may call from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park next to her late husband of 41 years.
