Bernice D. Polasek, 72, Marshfield, died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. A parish prayer service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Bernice was born on June 22, 1939 in Wausau to Joseph H. and Dorothy (Karlen) Baumann. She was a 1957 graduate of Marathon High School. She was united in marriage to Earl Basil Polasek on October 15, 1960 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Halder.
Bernice had been a homemaker and also was employed at P & M Monogramming and St. Joseph's Hospital Environmental Services in Marshfield. She also had volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital, was a Cub Scout den leader and Girl Scout Leader. She had traveled to Churchill, Canada, Branson, MO, Las Vegas, NV, Alaska, Washington DC and took a rail trip to Yellowstone National Park and many other places in addition to visiting family. She enjoyed gardening and tending to flowers. She also enjoyed Farmville, flying with Basil, her children, grandchildren, her cats, Ginger and Spice and home.
She is survived by her husband Earl and their children, Brian (Ann) Polasek of White Bear Lake, MN, Janet (Doug) Janssen of Stevens Point, Bruce (Kim) Polasek of Shiocton, and Phil (Leslie) Polasek of Littleton, CO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Britny, Andrew, Matthew, Clair, Kevin, Kate, Lauren and Luke. She is further survived by brothers, Don Baumann, Lee (Loretta) Baumann, and Joe (Jeri) Baumann, and sisters, Mary Ellen (Tom) Steiber and Arlene Leffel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
