Conrad A. Klimisch, 102, Wausau, passed away on Monday June 10, 2013, at home.
He was born November 26, 1910, on a farm near Yankton, South Dakota, son of Paul and Katie (Hunhoff) Klimisch.
Conrad graduated from Yankton High School and later attended Marquette University in Milwaukee where he met Ednamary Campbell; they married in 1936 at Gesu Church in Milwaukee. Their marriage of more than 74 years was an extraordinary one built on unconditional love for each other and faith in God. Together they had six children.
In 1947 Conrad started Wausau Supply Company, a wholesale building materials company. He retired in 1975 and he and Ednamary moved to Sun City, Arizona. Together they traveled visiting family, relatives and friends. Conrad loved to play golf at any time or place. After 24 years in Arizona, they moved back to Wausau to be closer to children.
Conrad was a 60 year member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, currently affiliated with the George Schreier Council No. 1069, Wausau. He was president of the Serra Club from 1963-64 and was also a member of the Wausau Elks Lodge No. 248.
Survivors include five children, Karen Ann (David) Grant, Slinger, Ronald (Janet) Klimisch, Schofield, Janet (Wayne) Roeder, Hartland, David (Diane) Klimisch, Minocqua, Diane (Phill) Mirasola, Mosinee, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Ednamary, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Wayne Klimisch, six brothers, Paul, Edward, Leo, Bernard, Andrew and Joseph Klimisch.
A private Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch presided. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Memorials in Conrad's name may be directed to Newman High School, 1130 W. Bridge Street, Wausau, WI 54403
