Martin, Frances

Frances Rose Martin, 77 of Kronenwetter, passed away from complications with leukemia on Saturday, January 5, 2013.

She was born in Schofield on November 1, 1935, the youngest daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Puttkamer) Barwick. On October 20, 1956 she married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Ernie Martin.

Fran enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, genealogy, junk shopping, and most of all fishing. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was humbled by their love and attention, which meant the world to her.

Survivors include her husband, Ernie, Kronenwetter; two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Akavickas, Wausau, and Linda (Jack) Graap, Rothschild; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandsons; two sisters, Leona (Bob) Ehrfurth, Green Bay, and Janet Lemma, Wausau; brother, Peter (Janet) Barwick, Menasha; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Iwanski, Milwaukee, and Angie Schenkel , Chicago.

In addition to her parents, she was further preceded in death by her only son, Kenneth Martin, TX, three sisters, six brothers, and many sisters and brothers -in-law.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday at the church.
