McBee, Keith L.

Keith Lewis McBee, 52, Schofield, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home.

He was born October 12, 1960, in West Virginia to Dr. James L. McBee Jr. and Jean Bush. He graduated high school at age sixteen and earned his Master's Degree at the University of West Virginia. Keith moved to Wausau in 1983 and began working as an Associate Professor of Accounting at the UW-Marathon County where he remained employed until his death. He also owned his own tax preparation business.

Keith enjoyed spending time with his children by playing games, going on road trips, and having family breakfasts. He was well known in the community and had friends everywhere he went. Keith loved teaching and had a very good relationship with his students and co-workers, many times treating them as if they were family.

Keith will be missed by many, but the greatest loss will be felt by his children who resided with him at the time of his passing. They will never forget his boisterous personality, unconditional support, bad cooking, nonstop singing, and most of all, his overwhelming love.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father Dr. James L. McBee Jr., his sister Debra (Daniel) McBee-Eagle, Fresno, CA, and his children: Cole McBee, 20, Amber McBee, 19, Cassidy McBee, 18, Sydney McBee, 15, and Brooke McBee, 10, Schofield.

Other survivors include the Bradford, Fochs, Feit, McBee-Eagle, Llewellyn and McBee families who will miss him dearly.

A service celebrating Keith's life will be held June 10, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the UW-Center for Civic Engagement at Stewart & 7th Avenue, Wausau, WI. Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to aid Keith's children's future would be appreciated. Cole McBee will foresee the memorial fund. Contributions can be sent to Brainard Funeral Home, c/o Cole McBee, 522 Adams Street, Wausau, WI 54403.

Condolences may be given at www.brainardfuneral.com.
