Kristina Mae Neumeyer, 69, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, under hospice care. She was born June 25, 1943, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, to the late Kenneth and Alice (Olson) Volden. Kristina was married to John Neumeyer on August 13, 1966; he survives.
Kris and John moved to the Tomahawk area in 2003 from Wausau. She was a piano teacher (NCTM) for 27 years and was an accompanist for the Wausau West and Tomahawk School Districts for many years. She was active in Vacation Bible School and the "Kid's Club" at Northland Bible Church and enjoyed summers assisting at Living Waters Bible Camp in Westby, Wisconsin. Kris was a member of "Friendly 12" Homemakers of Wausau for 36 years. She loved spending time with her husband of 46 years, her children and young grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, John Neumeyer of Tomahawk; 1 son, Tim Neumeyer of Wausau, Wisconsin; 1 daughter, Jennifer (Aaron) Willford of Arden Hills, Minnesota, and 4 grandchildren, Aubrey, Jonah, Sully and Grady; 2 brothers, Dan (JoAnn) Volden and Carl (Marilyn) Volden, all of Genoa, Wisconsin. Kristina was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services for Kristina Neumeyer will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Generations Funeral Home, 1400 North 4th Street, Tomahawk. Rev. Alex Lindsay will officiate. Visitation will take place Friday, August 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
