Traska, Marion J.
Marion J. Traska, 80, Wausau, died Friday, May 10, 2013 after a brief illness, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. Marion was born in 1932 to the late John and Esther Weber, in the town of Fleith. She married David "Pep" Traska on June 9, 1952 in Wausau.
Over the years Marion developed a love of learning. She was an avid reader and loved attending to her flower and vegetable gardens. For years, she enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends. Marion had a deep faith and loving heart for her family. She was a long time member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband, David "Pep"; son, Jeff (Kristi) Traska, Wausau; daughter, Julie (Matthew) Waldvogel, Mosinee; grandson, Michael (Brianne) Rice, Reedsburg; great-grandchildren, Sterling, Ryleigh and Gracie; two sisters, Charlotte Traeger, Wausau and Ethel (Edward) Shulta, Rothschild; and a special companion, Freddy the cat.
Memorial gathering and visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. Family and friends will gather again after the visitation at the Homestead Inn, 8507 Hwy 52, Wausau. Jehovah's Witnesses will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Brainard Funeral Home. Visitation for this service will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
Family would like to thank the staff at both Mount View Care Center and Aspirus Hospice Services for the care and kindness shown to both Marion and her family, during her short stay.

Marion was a stalwart and strong sister. She was a joy to be around. She was like a grandmother to me. I will miss her.

I remember helping her with her gardens that she loved to take care of so much. It was never an issue that the work was hard, she made it a joy to be outside and more especially in her company. She always had a smile on her face while working in the garden.

Julie, I am so sorry about your mama, she was a very special loving person, and we will miss her. But, when she wakes up again in Jehovah God's new system,and she will be healthy and happy again. She has always had that sweet smile and loved everyone, and she sured loved you all. I just saw her @ the memorial a couple months ago. Do you remember babysitting for me years ago, when my children were little and you lived behind us in that little house off of 12 th ave. in Wausau?( it has been a very long time). Marion was always a lovely sister to be around. She always took the time and interest in others and gave personal advice to me that i will remember always. We'll see her soon. Marion will be missed.
