God called home our father and grandfather, Melbourne Laatsch, 92, Thursday, December 6, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
Melbourne was born October 10, 1920 to William and Ida (Scharbius). He married the love of his life Lois on June 29, 1946, a marriage that was to last 66 years. He liked to Polka dance, loved his sweets and playing cards. He treasured the time he spent with his family at their cottage on Clear Lake in Tomahawk; especially the time he spent fly-fishing with his grandson.
Melbourne is survived by his son Gary (Carol) of Wausau, two daughters Bonnie of Wausau, and Jennifer Robinson of Elk Mound, and two grandchildren Shawn (Kim) of Hilo, Hawaii and Kimberly of Kona Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, and two sons-in-law Richard Robinson and David Draheim.
Memorial services will be Saturday, December 15, at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church Spiritual Life Center. Pastor Joel Brandt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service.
