Mildred Lang Obituary
Mildred E. Lang

Mildred "Millie" E. Lang, 97, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Wellington Place, Wausau.

She was born on June 24, 1915, in Fertile, Minnesota, daughter of the late Rev. Jorgen and Marie (Kirkeberg) Sundheim. She married Norman G. Lang on September 5, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2007, as did her seven siblings. For many years Mildred was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served for several years as church secretary, but following her marriage she was primarily a homemaker, raising her three children.

Survivors include those children: John (Esther) of Emory, Virginia; Richard (Carol) of North Wales, Pennsylvania; and Virginia of Alma, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Nathan (Lesa) of Richmond, Virginia; Scott of Gales Ferry, Connecticut; Sarah (Joseph) of Charleston, South Carolina; and Erik of Hong Kong, China.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 Adams St., Wausau, with Rev. Sean Motley officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family.

Memorials should be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau, or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, 333 Pine Ridge Blvd., Wausau 54401.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude for the compassionate care Millie received for nearly six years from the staff at Wellington Place and in recent weeks from Aspirus Hospice Services. We also want to thank Amy of Home Instead Senior Care for the years of love and devotion she showed to Millie.
