Norbert Duginske

Norbert "Mike" Duginske age 93, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at North Central Health Care.

He was born on January 1, 1920, the son of Peter and Katherine (Dohney) Duginske in Merrill, WI.

He graduated from Merrill High School in 1938 and was a member of the Silver M Club.

In 1941, "Mike" enlisted in the Army Air Force and served in WWII as a navigator on a B-24 from 1945; during his service, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. "Mike" was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

On June 19, 1945, he married Valeria Schmeisser who preceded him in death on December 1, 1980.

On June 4, 1982, he married Dolores Altmeyer who survives.

"Mike" was active in the CYO, Explorers Fund Raiser, Knights of Columbus, the Elks BPO #248 and an avid Newman Cardinal supporter; he was also a very active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Over the years, he was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, AAA and Catholic Knights Insurance.

In addition to his wife, Dolores, he is survived by three children, Michael (Alice) Duginske, Wausau, Patrick (Carol) Duginske, Carmel, IN, Elizabeth Duginske (August Margineau), Sheboygan, WI; five grandchildren, Rebecca Duginske, Columbus, OH, Stephen (Stephanie) Duginske, Asheville, NC, Joy Duginske (Fred Crampton), Chicago, IL, Lucas Dulmes, Sheboygan, WI, Dawn Dulmes, Sheboygan, WI; two great-grandchildren, Hollis Duginske and Monroe Duginske, Ashville, NC. two sisters, Margaret Ann English and Regina (Kenneth) Schumacher. He is also survived by three step-daughters, Gail Pupp, Diane Doty and Carol Cumber, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Katherine (Dohney) Duginske; three brothers, Edward Duginske, Aurelius Duginske and Donald Duginske; three sisters, Lois Kretlow, Virginia Gilmore and Cecilia Rassmussen.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church 611 Stark St., Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
