Thomsen, Todd J.

Todd J. Thomsen, 45, died Wednesday March 13, 2013 at his home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Todd was born in Wausau, on December 8, 1967, the son of Ken and Judy Thomsen.

Todd was a graduate of Wausau West and the University of WI Stevens Point. He went on to work at Super 29, then for the past 16 years at Greenheck Fan.

Todd was an avid collector of vintage snowmobiles as well as a classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed auto mechanics and spent free time working on his own cars, or helping friends with theirs. He also kept up to date on most sports, especially football and auto racing.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Ken and his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Judy, who cared for him throughout his sickness, so that he could live out his wish of passing in his home that he loved so much. One brother Scott (Renee`) Thomsen, a nephew and god son Mitchell Thomsen, a god daughter Michelle Brandt, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Todd's friendship with his nephew Mitch was a source of happiness for him, he looked forward to the time they spent together, they were buddies and they both enjoyed the banter they shared.

Todd was a friend to all, he will be remembered for his kind and gentle soul, and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adam Street, Wausau. Rev. Tim Vanden Langenberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Onitilo and the oncology nurses at Marshfield Clinic Weston, as well as the staff of Ministry Home Hospice for their care, kindness and respect. Special thanks also to Todd's uncle Russell and his god mother aunt Betty for their support in past months, and to Todd's friends and coworkers, whose phone calls and visits were the highlight of Todd's days during his sickness.
