Veronica "Fronie" Timmerman, age 90, formerly of 3311 1st Street South Wisconsin Rapids, died peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Kennedy Park Transitional Living Center in Schofield, Wisconsin surrounded by her family.
Fronie was born March 3rd, 1922 in Sherry, Wisconsin, to Louis and Anna (Haasl) Wallner. She grew up on the family farm rich with the traditions of her father's homeland of Austria which she later passed on to her children and their families through her many recollections and experiences. She married Donald "Tim" Timmerman on January 6th 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids. Together they raised a family of ten children.
Fronie was known for her compassionate care giving, quiet wisdom, and generous heart. As a young woman she cared for her ailing mother and later on cared for several relatives in need. She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Church, serving it and her community in various volunteer activities.
Fronie was ready and willing to try everything. She seemed to find the most joy in the simple pleasures of life. She golfed, square danced, bowled, loved cards, traveling with Tim, and time spent with family. Her life was lived with a "Do no harm," and "Don't say that which can't be taken back" attitude. Her motto was "Lead by example". She will be missed, but celebrated and remembered as a living example of God's likeness. She was a role model worth emulating.
Veronica is survived by her 10 children, Ann (Jeff) Solomon, Sandy (Joel) Pfeiffer, Marjorie (Ralph) Uttke, Daniel (Jo) Timmerman, Edward (Lisa) Timmerman, Joan Brown, James (Nancy) Timmerman, John Timmerman, Joseph (Angela) Timmerman, and Mary (Paul) Lourich. She is further survived by her 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brother Norman (June) Wallner, and numerous nephews and nieces. Fronie was preceded in death by her husband Donald, sister Theresa Bushmaker, 3 brothers - Emery, Carl and Joe Wallner, and her infant daughter, Sara Timmerman, in 1950.
Public visitation will be held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday January 12th from 9am until 11am with funeral services to follow. The Reverend John Steiner will officiate the service at St Vincent, located at 820 13th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wisconsin Rapids (corner of WI 54 E and 64th Street North).
