Terry R. Beversdorf, 58, Wittenberg, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer.
He was born on April 27, 1955 in Antigo, the son of Ruth (Larzelere) Beversdorf, Wittenberg and the late Willis "Chub" Beversdorf. On June 16, 1978, Terry was united in marriage to Sharon Havlovic at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. She survives.
Terry was a 1973 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. He was one of the owners of Beversdorf Garage, Inc., Wittenberg and worked there as a mechanic from 1974 until November, 2013. Terry enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, carpentry and spending time "at the land with his girls." His skills as a handy man and mechanic will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Beversdorf, Wittenberg; two children, Rebecca (Jacob) Kilgas, Schofield and Joshua (Amanda) Beversdorf, Birnamwood; his mother, Ruth Beversdorf, Wittenberg; five brothers, Richard (Mary) Beversdorf, Carl Beversdorf and Bruce (Laurie Rockabrand) Beversdorf, all of Wittenberg, Wallace (Lynn) Beversdorf, Phelps and Dan (Joan) Beversdorf, New Berlin. He is also survived by two beloved grandchildren, Gracyn and Bennett Kilgas. Other survivors include aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Willis Beversdorf; paternal grandparents, Herman and Alma Beversdorf; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Bernadine Larzelere; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Caroline Havlovic and his uncle, Robert James Beversdorf.
The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until the time of service at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
