Rita Eckart

Rita J. Eckart, 86, Hatley, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston.

She was born on January 12, 1928 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Warras) Brever.

On May 24, 1952, Rita was united in marriage to Frederick George Eckart in Washington D.C. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2002.

Rita worked as a clerk for the U.S. Navy in Washington D.C. for many years. She also worked as a teacher's assistant while living in Portland, Oregon. She enjoyed travelling, crossword puzzles and reading.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Eckart, Hatley and Marc Eckart, Eland; four grandchildren, Christopher, Ariel, Ben and Adam; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Tortorice, IL and two brothers, Don Brever, Milwaukee and Paul Brever, Jr. Florida. She is also survived by other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.
