Yesse Jr., Emanuel

Emanuel Yesse, Jr., age 74, of Wausau, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at home with his family. Emanuel was born on March 7, 1939 to the late Emanuel and Rose (Werner) Yesse. He married Marlyne (Graveen) on September 20, 1958 in Sheboygan.

Emanuel owned various businesses over the years such as Yellow Cab, Checker Cab Company and Washington Street Laundromat. He also worked for Wisconsin Fuel and Light and Elmer France Heating. In 1979 he began Yesse Heating and Air Conditioning, which he continued until 2013 when his health forced him to retire.

Emanuel enjoyed many things in his life, including gardening, being creative, being outdoors and his work - he loved taking care of his customers. He was an avid sports enthusiast, always cheering for the Brewers, Badgers, and, of course, the Green Bay Packers. You could always count on him to share a story or tell a joke. The most important part of Emanuel's life, though, was his love for his family and providing for them.

Emanuel is survived by his beloved wife, Marlyne Yesse, Wausau; children Vicki (Jordan) Long, Wausau, Rick (Brenda) Yesse, Stevens Point; Wendy (Tim Mongan) Victoria, Greenville; sisters Rose (Dave) Seidler; Virginia Pagel; Dorothy (Jerry) Kittel, sister in law Debra Fochs, all of Wausau, grandchildren; Cara, Amanda, Kristen, Kyle, Jace, Bethany, Katie, Cresencio, and Michael, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Emanuel is further survived by cousins Hoover and Josephine Yessa who were an important part of his life.

Emanuel is preceded in death by daughter, Dixie, siblings; Donnie Yessa, Joe Fochs, and Mabel.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. The Rev. Wes Jerdas will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

The family would like to thank Emanuel's sisters, Jeanie and Rose, for their help with caring for Emanuel during his last days as well as the Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for their assistance.
