Singleton, William David

William David Singleton died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Mount View Care Center in Wausau, after an extended illness.

Born Nov. 29, 1947 in New York City, he served for several years as a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod minister in Wittenberg, Eland and Hermansfort, Wis., and as a public defender in Green Bay and Shawano.

Survivors include his children, Heidi Petersen of Wausau; Gretchen (Eric) Lorge of Kronenwetter; Kirsten (Adrian) Adshead of Madison; Justin (Jason Erickson) Singleton of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren - Elizabeth Singleton; William, Oliver and Teddy Meng Petersen; Sarah, Jacob and Brian Lorge; and Sophie, Charlie and Susannah Adshead; lifelong friends, the Beyer family; and several loving members of his extended family.

Brainard Funeral Home in Wausau is handling the immediate arrangements. The family will be holding a memorial service on a date to be determined and can be reached via SingletonMemorial@adshead.net.
