Engebos, Verna M.
Verna M. Engebos, 85, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born August 16, 1928, in Wittenberg, WI to Frank and Gertrude Sell. Verna married Edwin R. Miller in August, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1982. She married Donald Engebos in July, 1984.
Verna worked for Bell Telephone, H.C. Pranges and retired from Sears & Roebuck Company. She was a member of St. Jude Parish and was active in St. Jude Christian Women's Society. Verna was also a life member of Ducks Unlimited. She enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Vincent dePaul with her friends. Verna loved all animals and was especially fond of cats. Her winters were enjoyed in Arizona and summers at White Potato Lake.
Verna is survived by her husband, Donald Engebos; three sons, R. Bret (Sarah) Miller, Wausau; Todd (Linda) Miller, Cape Coral, FL; Daniel Miller, Boston, MA; one daughter, Peggy (Charles) Parins, Little Falls, MN; three stepdaughters, Barbara Sparks, New Jersey; Carol (Frank) Reichert, Green Bay; Dawn (Bryan) Daniels, Green Bay; brother, Edward Sell, Wausau; sister, Alice Godin, Appleton; six grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin; parents; sister, Arlene Hoyt, brother-in-law, William Godin; and a sister-in-law, Alta Sell.
Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., Green Bay, from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev.
