Bernice "Bea" M. Banks, age 92, of Wausau, passed away peacefully in her sleep, April 8, 2014 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.

Bea was born on May 7, 1921 in Wausau to the late Arthur and Emma (Janke) Meuret. She married David N. Banks on October 3, 1947 in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1989.

Bea was born and raised in Wausau and once she was on her own she moved out to California. She worked at Jay El Products as a precision assembler and that is also where she met the love of her life David Banks. Bea lived in California for 60 years and returned to Wausau in 2003 to be close to family. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Bea enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Bea is survived by three sisters, Joyce "Burpie" Knapp, Shirley "Shirl" Meuret, both of Wausau, Beverly "Bev" Schulz, Janesville; her three brothers, Wallace "Wally" and Redda Meuret, Hatley, Gerald "Jiggs" and JoAnn "Jo" Meuret, Weston, Kenneth "Curly" and Karen Meuret, Wausau; further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Donald and Gordon Meuret, and sister Delores "Dee" Meuret.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 113 W. Kort St., for both Bernice "Bea" Banks and her sister, Delores "Dee" Meuret, who passed away on February 27, 2014. Fr. Don Meuret will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 from noon until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Therese Catholic Church, Holy Name Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave, St. Wausau or Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services Hospice House, 530 N. 32nd Ave, Wausau.
