Marion L. Crotteau, 99, Mosinee, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home with her daughters at her side..

She was born at home in Wausau on April 27, 1915 to Hattie Julia Doleschal (Matson) and John Edward Matson.

She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1932. Marion was employed at Employer's Mutual Insurance Company for four years. On August 11, 1936, she married the love of her life, Gordon Crotteau in Rockford, Ill. Together they celebrated sixty nine years of marriage. He preceded her in death December 24, 2005.

Marion was a wonderful loving wife and mother whose family always came first. Her faith was a priority in life and people knew her as a kind and humble person. Her ability to be a good listener and interesting conversationalist drew family and friends to her. She loved to cook and bake and was known as the "family nutritionist." Marion was an avid reader and a great admirer of nature and flowers.

Survivors include; a son, Richard Crotteau, Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Joan (James) Janz, Eau Claire, and Mary Anne (Gary) Bixby, Blair; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Naomi), Joseph, Jason (Dennice), Jay(Carolina) and Jonathon (Rebecca) Janz, Deborah (Heath) Umbach, Danielle (Victor) Serna, and Steven Crotteau; twelve great-grandchildren, Mandy, Christy, Isaiah, Zac, Willow, Julia and Anthony Janz, Taylor and Logan Umbach, Maya, Nina and Emilio Serna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Marshall Matson and an infant grandson, John Anthony Janz.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 9, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am Monday until the time of the service at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
