Gibbs, Jean

Jean Marie Gibbs, 85, Wausau, passed away at her home on Monday, July 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born on April 25, 1929 to the late Clarence and Genevieve (Gilbert) Wood. She went on to marry Leonard Gibbs; and together they had six wonderful children.

Jean was an amazing cook and baker, an avid fisher woman and gardener. Jean had been a 4-H leader in Thorp and was a dedicated member of the Franciscans of St. Michaels.

Jean is survived by her four sons; David (Karen), Wausau, Barry, Wausau, Kurt (Sharon), Marathon and Terry, Wausau; son-in-law, Jim Lippert, Wausau; Eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her daughter Kristine Lippert; infant son Robert Duane and her sister Pat Elmer.

Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adam St, Wausau. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
