Wilma J. Shankwitz, 85, of Weston, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Saturday, August 2, 2014.

Wilma was born on October 23, 1928 to the late William and Jesse Beyer. She went on to marry Arthur Shankwitz and together they raised three children; Kathy, Denise and Greg.

Wilma was a dedicated member to Mount Olive Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Her favorite pastimes were sewing and baking but she also enjoyed quilting, gardening, feeding the birds and jig saw puzzles. Wilma was a proud and loving mother and grandmother and loved every moment spent with her family.

Wilma is survived by her three children; Kathy Tyrrell, Merrill, Denise (Greg) St. John, Elmhurst, IL, and Greg (Sandy) Shankwitz, Landenberg, PA ; grandchildren; Christine Steidl, J.R. Graap, Michelle and Robert St. John and Jennifer and Kimberly Shankwitz; seven great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, William (Marion) Beyer, Gleason and Ronald (Darlene) Beyer, Merrill; one sister Barbara (J.P.) Holtz.

Beside her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her grand-daughter Tracy Tyrrell and her sister Nettie Jirtle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson St, Weston. Rev. Ray Connor will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Merrill Memorial Park, Merrill, WI.
