Frank W. Mueller

Frank William Mueller, 80, of Wausau, passed away at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca. He was born to the late Paul and June (Jonas) Mueller on October 31, 1933, in Wausau. He married Luella Treichel on July 11, 1953, in Wausau, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Frank was an avid Packer fan, spending every Sunday at the V.F.W. Hangar Lounge, cheering the team on. He was a member of the V.F.W. Burns Post #388 and the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10. He served as a member of the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, in two tours to Germany as an Engineer. Frank was able to take the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in the last year with his daughter. Spending time on his land in the Town of Texas was something he cherished, hunting, fishing, and working the 40 acres.

Survivors include his wife, Luella; daughters, Christine (Bob) Schiefelbein and Kathy (Jim) Miller; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Fountaine; four nieces; and one nephew, all of Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and June; sister, Sidona Kihn; and one nephew.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
