Arline B. Sikorski Obituary
Sikorski, Arline B.

Arline B. Sikorski, age 87, of Wausau, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Her close family and Rev. Keane Foster of St. Paul's United Church of Christ gathered for prayers and a final goodbye from this life to one of eternal rest.

Arline was born on November, 25, 1924 to the late William and Erna (Wiesman) Kort in Rothschild. She was the sixth of seven children. She was educated in the Rothschild School. She married Andrew Sikorski of Fredonia, New York, on July 19, 1955 in Pine City, Minnesota. She met Andrew years earlier during the World War II, when he was stationed at Ft. McCoy. Andrew was a widower with five children, ages 1 to7. The Sikorski's moved to Rothschild and Arline was busy for many years rearing her new family,

Arline was a pioneer woman of her time. At a time when it wasn't common for women to drive, Arline got her driver's license and worked for 18 years at Wilson-Hurd. She was also a woman of many talents. She could make her own clothing and was very crafty, was an excellent polka dancer, and played the guitar, accordian, and the piano including the family player piano. She loved the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hiking or skiing. Arline was also an avid card player and sports fan. She loved to watch baseball and golf, and was an excellent bowler. She won many bowling championships. She will also be remembered for her holiday decorations. Her home was Marywood-she loved it there. Arline was full of life and laughter and will be missed by many.

Survivors include her children Andrew E. Sikorski of Wausau, Mary Jane (Melvin) Burskey of Neenah, Noreen Fisher of Schofield, and David Sikorski, Wausau; grandchildren Jaclynn, Paul, Ann, Lori, Matthew, Therese, Heather, Kevin, Bobbi Jo, and Maureen; great grandchildren Hunter, Drake, Harmony, Helaina, Cole, Montana, Kailey, and Tegan; brothers Harry and Ardean; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arline is preceded in death by her husband Andrew, parents William and Erna, siblings Viola Hauser, Florence Spindler, Wallace Kort, and Clara Barwick, son Robert Sikorski, and grandson Clint Sikorski.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St, Wausau on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Pastor Keane Foster will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will follow immediately at Pine Grove Cemetery, next to her husband of 45 years.

The family would like to thank the entire staff and Marywood and the hospice staff at Aspirus for their kindness and compassion.
