Maxine E. Ostrowski
Maxine E. Ostrowski, 79, Wittenberg, died on Monday, May 13, 2013 under the care of AseraCare Hospice at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
She was born on November 26, 1933, in Polonia, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Kruzicki) Wanserski. On September 11, 1954, Maxine was united in marriage to Conrad Ostrowski in Rosholt. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2010.
The couple farmed for many years until their retirement. Maxine enjoyed gardening, playing cards and the occasional trip to the casino. Maxine was an active member of Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church and it's Christian Mother's. Through the years, Maxine cooked for many funerals and other church functions. Maxine was also a member of the Elderon Memorial Post #8068 Veteran's of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include six children, Robert (Jan) Ostrowski, Wells, MN; James (Kim) Ostrowski, Pardeeville; Terrence (Donna) Ostrowski, Wittenberg; Gerald (Chris) Ostrowski, Mechanicsville, MD; Paul (Lori) Ostrowski, Ringle; and Tamara (Howard) Schultz, Greenleaf, WI; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three siblings, Richard "Butch" Wanserski, Stevens Point; Dorothy Pozolinski, Appleton; and Julane (Raymond) Zelinski, Menasha; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by a son, Al; a grandson, Aaron and siblings, Ralph, Dan, Larry, Ervin and Gertrude Stanislawski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and again on Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the funeral home. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
