Glimm, Robert W.
Robert W. Glimm, 64, Wausau, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a brief but severe illness. Robert was born September 29, 1948, to Warren and Ruth (McCarthy) Glimm in Wausau. He married Kathleen Roble on July 1, 1972, in Wausau.
Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, working at the Wausau Post Office and later retiring from the Rothschild Post Office. As an avid card player, playing sheepshead and cribbage, he even entered several tournaments. Fishing and playing baseball and softball were activities he enjoyed. As a spectator, Robert liked watching the Brewers, Packers and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Melinda (Jamie) Lang, Marathon; two grandchildren, Tristian and Delaney; his mother, Ruth Glimm, Wausau; a brother, Steven (Kay) Glimm, Wausau; and a sister, Vicki (Rick) Stuhr, Ringle. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau. Rev. Philip Schneider will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.
