Lenora M. "Sis" Oldenburg (nee Holl), 92, of Wisconsin Rapids entered eternal life June 29, 2013 at Our House Assisted Living on 12th Street in Wisconsin Rapids, where she resided for the last 3 years, after a recent diagnoses of lung cancer.
Lenora "Sis" was born July 27, 1920 to Carl & Ida Holl in Merrill. She married Ward H. Oldenburg November 29, 1944 in Merrill.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her favorite past times were bowling, fishing, golfing, dancing, and playing cards. She was an avid fan of the Badgers, Brewers, Golden Eagles and the Packers. She worked at Bardon Rubber in Union Grove for 14 years. She will also be remembered for her famous potato pancakes and love of popcorn.
Lenora "Sis" is the beloved mother of David (Cherie) Oldenburg of Milwaukee and Karen (Dan) Christopherson of Wisconsin Rapids; proud grandma of Steve (Liz) Givens, Ryan Christopherson , Kyle Christopherson, Kevin (Tina) Christopherson, and Lisa (Paul) Kanning; loving great-grandma of Gunnar Christopherson, Alena and Mia Givens, Kouper and Evan Christopherson, and Shea and Campbell Kanning; and many caring nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Ward) of 66 years, brother-in-law & sister-in-law (Ken & Ilene) Oldenburg, 3 sisters and brother-in-laws: Grace (Walt) Thompson, Esther (Bob) Wilke, Margaret (Mike) Krotchie: 5 brothers and sister-in-laws: Elmer (Elsie), Edgar (Ethel), Harold (Martha), Carl (Rosella) & twin Leon (Sarah) Holl.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 5th at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 311 14th Avenue S. in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the church. Private burial will be at Merrill Memorial Park in Merrill on Saturday, July 6th. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
