Rodney Garvey Obituary
Garvey, Rodney

Rodney Charles Garvey, 53, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven, on July 20, 2013, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison after an extended illness. He was surrounded by friends and family. Rod was born July 7, 1960 in Kenosha to Charles and Donna (Nodorft) Garvey. After graduating from Colby High School, Rod finished his associate's degree from NTC and worked as a salesman in the building industry and was currently employed at ProBuild in Wausau. He was joined in marriage to Therese (Kitkowski) Garvey on October 4, 1986, and married 26 years. She survives. He loved the Packers, sports in general, fishing and the occasional casino run. He found great peace and contentment sitting and watching the birds he would feed at his country home in Wausau. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Rod was preceded in death by his father. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Hali Emeline Garvey; son, Aaron Charles Garvey; mother, Donna Garvey; three sisters, Cheri (Dennis) Fairbert, Lori (Kurt) Zenner, and Deeann (Michael Teubert) Garvey-Teubert. A memorial service will be held on July 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church (501 Stewart Ave, Wausau) with visitation starting at 10:30 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. The family would ask that you wear Packer attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rodney Garvey Memorial Fund at Peoples State Bank. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the UW Clinic Staff and UW Hospital Staff for their expertise and tender care over the past 5 years. A special thank you to the Glory Gang and their spouses for their support and friendship. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered at jjbfh.com.
