George A. Pietrowski, 80, Weston, died Thursday February 27, 2014 at Kennedy Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. George was born the seventh child out of twelve on November 4, 1933 to the late Alex and Florence (Milkowski) Pietrowski in Rietbrock, Wisconsin. George married Joyce Vanderhoof on January 31, 1959 in Milwaukee.

George served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed with Sun Printing until his retirement in 1996. He loved carpentry, building many picnic tables and outdoor furniture and his biggest accomplishment, his own home. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with his wife and family.

Survivors include his wife Joyce; three sons, Douglas (Esther) Pietrowski, Fond du Lac, Michael (Pat) Pietrowski, Lake Villa, Illinois and Jeffrey (Sylvi) Pietrowski, Greenfield; a daughter, Jacquelyn (Robert) Nytes, Wausau; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Caroline), Joseph (Ann) and James (Sharon) Pietrowski; and two sisters, Florence Jahnke and Theresa (Howard) Hackel.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frank and Alex and four sisters, Marcella Behrendt, Marion Maas, Cecelia Kania and Gladyce Kieffer.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Rev. Richard Block will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date. Veteran Honors will be given by American Legion Post #10, Wausau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a donation to charities of their choice.
