Nancy Moyer, 79, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospice House after a short illness.
She was born April 11, 1935 in Wausau to Grover "Casey" and Elizabeth (Keller) Jones. On February 23, 1963 she married Eugene Moyer at Zion Lutheran Church in Wausau. He survives.
Nancy volunteered for many years at the Wausau Salvation Army, the Chamber and Visitors Bureau, the Good News Project and several other local non-profits. She enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, shopping, gambling and watching the Packers. She was a member of the VFW Burns Post 338 Auxiliary; St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and was active in the Wausau's Women's Club.
Survivors besides her husband include her 4 children, Keith (Deb) Ulrich, Waupaca, Sandra (Marvin) Klang, Sun Prairie, Sue Ellen (Scott) Smythurst, Hager City and Ross Moyer of Keauhou, HI; her 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church 3200 N. Mountain Road, Wausau. Visitation will be held 9:00 -11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Make A Wish Foundation, 13195 West Hampton Ave., Butler, WI 53007 are appreciated.
