Evan Stone, 17, of Thompson, PA , loving son, brother and great friend, died suddenly at home on April 24, 2013.
Born April 7, 1996, in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of Edward M. and the late Donna Jean Stone. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna and three uncles: Alan Stone, Larry Peltz and Michael Stanko.
Evan is survived by his father, Edward, brother Eddie, both of Thompson; aunt and uncle, Pat and Tom Stone, Susquehanna; aunt, Debbie Stone of Somerset, NJ; aunt, Judy Peltz, Thompson; aunt and uncle, Jeanette and Tom Greig, Carbondale; aunt and uncle, Andrea and Bob Peltz, Colorado Springs, CO; aunt and uncle, Emily and Ted Hall, Susquehanna; and many cousins.
He was a junior at Susquehanna Community High School where he was a member of the basketball, volleyball and golf teams.
Family and friends alike will always remember his room-brightening smile and huggable, laughable ways. He spent his life having fun, being a prankster, playing sports and video games, and making others feel good. He loved animals and children and was adored by his younger cousins who he always played with, wrestled with and entertained.
His early life was marked by tragedy with the death of his mother and although he was a beautiful, shining ray of light that went out much too soon, his family takes great comfort in the happy thought that he is with his mom now and of their joyous reunion.
A Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from Hennessey Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA 18847. His final resting place will be the Ararat Cemetery.
Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 3 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evan Stone Memorial Fund, c/o People's Bank, 215 Erie Blvd., Susquehanna, and PA18847.

Ed, Eddie and the extended Stone family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Evan was a great kid and our memories of him will be of him walking down the streets of Thompson with a smile on his face and a basketball in his hand.
May the fond memories you hold near and dear comfort you and give you peace in the gray days that lie ahead.

Evan I didn't know you too well and you most likely didn't know me. We had only one conversation and from that conversation I could tell that you were a great person with an even better personality. Rest easy. You will definitely be missed.

I do not have the words to express my deepest sympathy. I wish I had all the answers you may need. All I can do is keep you all in my heart and in my prayers. Hold tight to the wonderful memories you have of this beautiful young man, god has shared with you. Remember, we are all only "on loan" from god. Hold tight the thoughts that Evan is now back in his mother's arms and I know she is holding him very tightly. All my love and prayers. May god bless
