Lynn H. Mead, 93, of Waymart, died Wednesday morning, February 19, 2014 in the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. He is survived by his wife, Norma Myers Mead. They were married May 1, 1946.
Born on March 22, 1920 in Creamton, he was the son of the late Henry and Clara Hauenstein Mead.
Lynn graduated from the Aldenville High School.
He went on to operate a dairy farm on which he owned a herd of Registered Ayrshires. While farming, Lynn enjoyed showing his cattle at local fairs. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling with wife and gardening; especially his roses. In later years, he enjoyed reading and solving brain teaser puzzles.
He was member of the Aldenville Baptist Church where he served the church in many official capacities. In recent years, he attended the First Baptist Church of Honesdale.
He is also survived by two children: Anita Ferris and her husband David of Apalachin, New York, and Randall Mead of St. Pete's Beach, Florida; and one brother: Clyde Mead and his wife Doris of Creamton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Leeta Gaylord and her husband Gerald.
In accordance with his wishes, following cremation, Graveside Services will be held in Riverdale Cemetery in the spring, at the convenience of the family.
